What is JAKS?
JAKS was established to participate in robotics competitions under the leadership of Associate Professor Tokuo Tsuji of the Frontier Engineering Division, Institute of Science and Engineering, Kanazawa University, along with Professor Tetsuyo Watanabe and Assistant Professor (now Associate Professor) Yosuke Suzuki of the same division, as well as Associate Professor Kimitoshi Yamazaki (now Professor at the Department of Robotics, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University) of the Institute of Science and Technology, Shinshu University, and 13 students. Currently, JAKS is engaged in activities as part of student-driven research, applying the outcomes of research conducted in the “Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory,” “Human-Machine Creative Laboratory,” and “Robotics Design Laboratory” within the Frontier Engineering Division of Kanazawa University in a practical manner. Centered on undergraduate and graduate students belonging to the laboratories of Associate Professor Tokuo Tsuji, Professor Tetsuyo Watanabe, and Assistant Professor Yosuke Suzuki, the team actively participates in domestic and international robotics competitions and is engaged in the research and application of advanced robotics technologies.
